GRADE - WISE

Grade 3 & 4
Review Assessment 4 was conducted from March 1st to 11th. Students demonstrated their understanding of concepts taught by using knowledge and application skills. It aimed to assess the academic performance of the students. It was a continuous process of evaluating and documenting educational effectiveness.

Expo 2020 March Challenge was organised from March 1st till 20th. Students were invited to unleash their imagination and develop an innovation to change the world. They looked around the things and related them to the theme Expo 2020. The aim was to promote Expo 2020 Dubai within their school while inspiring and educating young minds. It also helped to develop critical thinking and brainstorming.

Live, Love and Laugh (L3 Session) was concluded on March 11th. Every morning students were involved in school prayer, thought for the day and mindfulness sessions. It was a healthy way of starting their day. It also gave them energetic start along with some thoughtfulness.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Year End Class party was held on March 11th. Students got an opportunity to connect with their teachers and classmates at the end of the academic year. It was a fun and interactive session. Some interesting games challenges also were conducted between teachers and students. A Virtual tour of OM campus through a video was shown to the grade 4 students. Later students shared their experiences about the DL mode of learning and expressed their gratitude towards the teachers. Some of them showcased their talents in singing and dancing. Subject teachers also visited the classes and wished them success.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Online End of the Session Party was conducted on March 11th. This school year has looked different from any other. The aim of this session party was to give students an opportunity to celebrate and recollect memories of the time spent throughout the year in a very special manner online. The end of the school year was a time of review, reflection, and celebration.

Additional Activities and Programs

KG 2
Virtual Graduation Day was held on March 11th. The day marked a great momentum to students as they virtually experienced Graduation Day. Students joined the session wearing white dress and a virtual graduation cap filter. They sang "Yesterday's Dream" with action. Students confidently and happily shared their experiences. Parents and students expressed their gratitude and deepest appreciation to their teachers. Indeed, it was a special day to parents, teachers and especially to our young students as they embraced the changes. It had a huge benefit in their future learning experiences. Students celebrated their milestones and educational achievements and it helped students to have a sense of accomplishment and pride.

Grade 1 & 2
Parents attended the Open House on March 24th & 25th to collect report cards. Students were updated on their educational performance throughout the academic year.

Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)
Virtual Tour – Visit to Al Shindagha Museum was concluded on March 4th in their Happiness Hub classes. The objective was to celebrate and explore the rich heritage & culture of Dubai. It was an opportunity for students to explore different artefacts, art works, and archival photography. They also got an overview of various perfumes used in UAE.

Grades 1 to 4
Earth Hour Webinar (virtual) was conducted on March 9th. Earth hour is one of the largest environmental initiatives that shed light on the dangers arising from the phenomena of climate change and global warming. It aimed to encourage individuals and institutions to take initiatives to rationalize the consumption of electricity & water daily, fight pollution, and contribute to recycling & rationalization of energy consumption to reduce the carbon footprint. This year’s theme titled ‘Speak Up For Nature’ was to raise responsibility between community groups and government entities to connect positively with our environment. Students attended this live webinar by the DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) in support to the initiative to raise awareness around environmental issues, supporting sustainable development locally, regionally, and internationally. They gained knowledge on ways of saving the planet Earth from pollution and deterioration. They also learnt to incorporate strategies to save the natural resources in many ways during their daily routines.

Observation of Earth Hour was conducted on March 27th.Participation by turning off all the unnecessary lights and electrical appliances for an hour starting from 8:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. was the activity intiated by DEWA. Students and staff supported the Earth Hour by ensuring to switch off lights for the scheduled hour. It helped them learn to respect the bounties of Mother Nature, include ways to save electric energy in their homes on a daily basis. It also encouraged a sense of importance on the use of resources in an appropriate manner.

Grade 3 & 4
Teachers Wellbeing Programme Week was held from March 14th till 18th. Feelings of wellbeing are fundamental to the overall health of an individual, enabling them to successfully overcome difficulties and achieve what they want out of life. From an organizational perspective, wellbeing is an important factor in quality, performance and productivity. Various workshops like Zumba dance, Zentangle Art and Yoga sessions were organized for the wellbeing of the teachers. Teachers thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.

Open House was organised on March 28th & 29th. Report cards showing the overall performance of the students throughout the academic year were handed over to the parents. Strength and areas of improvement of the students was also discussed.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Dubai Chess & Culture Club, with the technical support of Signature Chess, launched the Dubai Schools Games Chess Championships (Virtual Qualifying Rounds) on March 12th & 13th. Five students (3 boys and 2 girls) from our campus registered and participated. Competition link was sent to the participants to join and compete against 209 students from schools all over UAE. Digital Certificates were awarded to our participating students. They enjoyed learning a new skill and at the same time participate in a virtual activity to promote active participation.

Finale for Project One Root was conducted on March 30th. This project emphasised on creating a value of generosity which helped people to gain back their self-confidence. Students participated in the ‘Gift Hair Gift Confidence (GHGC)’ campaign of project One Root, planned as part of the school’s kindness initiative Project One.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Online Recess Radio program was organised throughout this month. This activity offered entertainment along with information by various ways. Students prepared speeches on relevant topics emphasizing on important days, recent happenings, basic etiquettes or even their views and suggestions on school activities. It was a platform to voice their opinions which truly matter. It was also a unique forum to develop their public speaking skills and to boost their confidence to speak in an in-house entertainment platform provided in the school.
