Living in such unprecedented times made us cherish the small yet important things in life.

We formed relationships with the people we love, people we care about, people that went on this crazy journey along with us, the journey without any classrooms, yet being stressed out over countless deadlines and mock exams. Unprecedented times!

We all have now learnt how to foster relationships through these tough times, quite literally finding the meaning behind the saying “through thick and thin”. Learning from these experiences, we are sure all of us will remember the family we created amongst ourselves that looked out for each other at every step of the way. If there is one sentiment that we take away from this is all is that our students can take on any obstacle that may lie in their life in any country in the world at any time of the year.

On 30th June, to celebrate this momentous achievement, we invited Ms. Mariam Othman, Director General of Rashid Center for the Determined Ones as the Chief Guest for our closing ceremony.

Ms. Mariam Othman established a paediatric therapy centre back in 1994, she just rented a small villa in Jumeirah to accommodate around 30 children and only had a handful staff. More than two decades later, she is now operating one of the biggest special needs centres in the UAE at a 250,000sqm compound in Al Barsha.

Rashid Centre for Disabled (formerly Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre) now has around 235 students attending various classes with multidisciplinary approach to special education, including speech therapy, occupational therapy and vocational trainings like gardening and carpentry in addition to music, drama, arts, swimming and horse riding classes.

Congratulations to all the graduates, it is a very proud moment for the school and the parents. You are the future leaders. Never give up and keep working hard.
- Ms. Mariam Othman

Coming to the close of weeklong celebrations, we have a heavy, yet very content heart. Our little ones are all grown up, all set and groomed to take on the next phase of their life and there is nothing more rewarding than this incredible feeling.
