IHS Student Sets Record for Hair Donation for Cancer Patients

Aalia Rumana, of Grade 10B at the Oud Metha campus, was recently honoured by the India Book of Records for donating her hair for the maximum number of times for cancer patients. She donated her hair four times, 12 inches each time, from July 2016 to June 2021, to cancer charities like Friends of Cancer patients and Children’s Cancer Centre of Lebanon.

An all-rounder, Aalia holds achievements in various fields and this added recognition for her humanitarian efforts is a big achievement. She is a black belt in karate; an ice skating winner at the GCC level; she is also part of KHDA clubs and a regular participant at Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) camps.
