Muhammad Shayan of The Indian High School, Al Garhoud aces the Chess Championship 2023 at Batumi, Georgia

An unparalleled excitement prevails at Al Garhoud as its very young chess master, Mohammed Shayan Noushad Ibrahim from Grade 2W bagged the first place in the Open Under 8 category. The FIDE and Georgian Chess Federation had organized the ‘World Cadets & Youth Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2023’ at the Euphoria Hotel in Batumi, Georgia from 5th June to 8th June 2023.

Muhammad Shayan has made the school proud as he stands as the first ever young chess player to have aced at an international level and has acquired the title of FIDE Rapid World Champion in his age group. He was awarded the winner’s trophy, medal, and certificate of honor during the closing ceremony on 11th June 2023, at Batumi, Georgia.
