Age Criteria (Academic Year 2023-2024)

In keeping with instructions from the regulatory authorities:

  • For Pre-KG to Grade 1, Underage children cannot be granted admission.
  • From Grade 2 to 4, the age limit for children studying in a recognized school can be waived to some extent subject to approval from the regulatory authorities.
  • In the case of an application for a child to enter a lower year group than their appropriate age cut-off year group due to various reasons agreed by the school and the parents, the parents must complete a “Demotion Form” from the KHDA once the child is enrolled to confirm that the parents agree for the child to enter a lower year group associated with 31st March cut-off.
  • Below age criteria are applicable for the academic year 2023-24.

Pre-KG

  • Children seeking admission to Pre-KG should have completed 3 (three) years of age as on 31st March of the joining year.
  • Final selection to Pre-KG will depend on the child's performance at an assessment session to ascertain his/her ability in independent speech and physical development to attend a pre-school.

KG 1

  • Children seeking admission to KG 1 should have completed 4 (four) years of age as on 31st March of the joining year (subject to change as per directives of regulatory authorities).
  • Selection is based on draw of lots.
  • Final selection to KG 1 will depend on the child's performance at an assessment session to ascertain his/her ability in independent speech and physical development to attend a pre-school.

KG 2 to Grade 4

  • Admissions from KG 2 to Grade 4 are granted strictly based on the performance in the Eligibility Test.
  • merit list of the successful candidates will be prepared in rank order and the parents of successful candidates will be informed as per the vacancies in each grade.

Students from other curricula (except Indian Curriculum)

Students coming from schools which follow a curriculum other than Indian, whose academic year is from June to May OR September to August, will be allowed to appear for the Eligibility Test, and their admission will be regularized in the month of April. However, successful completion of the year from the previous school is mandatory. Student will be eligible for admission only in the equivalent Grade based on the Year and age as per rules from the regulatory authorities. eg. as below:
