A little grandmaster with big moves: The Indian High School – Al Garhoud campus student triumphs in Chess Championship

It was truly a 'chess-tastic' moment for Muhammad Shayan Noushad Ibrahim of 2W, when he clinched a silver medal in the Team Boys Under 8 Blitz Competition and a gold medal in the Team Boys Under 8 Rapid Competition at the Asian Youth Under 8 Chess Championship, held in Al Ain from 12th - 22nd December 2023.

Outflanking his opponents at every opportunity, Ibrahim's brilliant strategies and quick thinking showcased his budding talent, which will no doubt seal many future chess victories for this young champion.

Another singular honour for this promising young talent came in the form of The Asian Chess Federation, United Arab Emirates awarding him the title of Asian Youth Chess Champion 2023 in the Under 8 Category.
